This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the role and impact of group work formats in shaping students' social competencies. The structure of social competencies (communicative, collaboration, empathetic, and intercultural skills) is outlined, and the mechanisms of influence of various group work formats (Jigsaw, STAD, group projects, debates, role-playing games) on the development of each competency are scientifically substantiated. The article also examines the criteria for assessing social competencies, the teacher’s role, and practical recommendations.
